Senwesters do their share on Mandela day

Staff of the Senwes Group gave their time and resources to render selfless service around the Senwes head office in Klerksdorp, where potholes were repaired and garbage was picked up. The different divisions and joint ventures within the Senwes Group, were divided into three teams, in order to assist in all the identified areas.

Senwes CEO, Francois Strydom, who also assisted, confirmed that he is proud of the attiude of his staff: “If you have a positive attitude and when you participate in processes in a positive manner, problems are usually solved much quicker than initially anticipated.”

The attitude, conduct and commitment of the teams were characteristic and co-operation was at the order of the day. They worked hand-in-hand with the Matlosana Municipality to repair the potholes. In addition to filling the potholes, Senwes donated 6 tonnes of tar to the local municipality to repair other roads in the city.

The initiative is the beginning of a larger movement by the Senwes Group to bring about sustainable change in the community and areas around the 237 business units where Senwes conducts business.

Strydom concluded with the following: “The question is, are you going to clean and repair the road, sidewalk or area around your house or business or are you going to wait for someone else to do it?"

Such a small gesture could result in unity among all people and could be one step closer to the global movement for good. Let's honour former President Nelson Mandela's 101st birthday with the attitude of his Madiba-legacy.
