Senwes launched first #BreakingNewGround initiative with the naming rights sponsorship of the Senwes Dragons Women

This #BreakingNewGround initiative sees Senwes and North West Cricket partnering for a second time as Senwes already owns the naming rights to the world class Senwes Park cricket stadium in Potchefstroom. Senwes is also the first company ever to secure the naming rights to both the stadium and women’s team, now formally known the Senwes Dragons Women.

Senwes CEO, Francois Strydom said “Women’s sport is a whole new - much broader - pyramid in which brands can get involved in sponsorship as it is still a relatively untapped space. The opportunity is now greater than ever to attract and reach a new audience directly.”
“…it is absolutely great that a Champion company is sponsoring a Champion team” said Mr HP Prinsloo, North West Cricket CEO.

After a very successful 2018/19 season for the formerly known, North West Dragons Women, it is a fitting partnership for North West Cricket and Senwes who will be supporting their development and wishes them all the best for the upcoming season and believe they will continue on their winning ways.

The ladies made history during their last season as they ended the 2018/2019 season undefeated. They went on to win the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s Provincial One-Day Cup, the Provincial T20 Cup as well as the CSA Women’s National week.

Furthermore, six of the Senwes Dragons Women have represented the SA National teams during the last season. Anneke Bosch, Lizelle Lee, Masabata Klaas, Tazmin Brits, Tumi Sekhukhune represented the Proteas Women and Evodia Yekile represented the SA Emerging side.

Francois van der Merwe Senwes Dragons Women Coach “I want to thank all my players who are huge role models to these young girls and with Senwes onboard hope has become reality…”

Tazmin Brits Senwes Dragons Women Captain “…this is a winning team and we are excited to break new ground with our new sponsor.”
Congratulations to the Senwes Dragons Women with their two great wins against Northerns this past weekend.
